Tim O'Brien Named CEO of Surgical Information Systems
Surgical Information Systems has appointed Tim O'Brien as its new Chief Executive Officer, tasking the healthcare technology veteran with steering the firm as it expands its footprint in the ambulatory surgery market. Outgoing CEO Tom Stampiglia will shift into the role of Chairman of the Board to oversee the transition.

Stampiglia, who departs the CEO post after a period of significant growth for the firm, emphasized that the leadership change is intended to bolster the company’s push into AI-driven workflows and revenue cycle automation. As surgical procedures increasingly shift toward outpatient settings, SIS aims to scale its unified platform to manage the rising clinical and financial complexity faced by its providers. O'Brien plans to focus on deploying agentic workflows designed to simplify administrative burdens and enhance operational efficiency within surgical environments.
