Flipper Zero team releases Busy Bar productivity display

A year after its initial announcement, the Busy Bar is finally hitting the market on July 14. Developed by the team behind the Flipper Zero, this desktop device uses a 72 x 16 pixelated LED screen to signal availability, aiming to curb unwanted interruptions for remote workers and office professionals alike.

The device functions as a physical status indicator that can be mounted on monitors, cubicle walls, or doors. Beyond its role as a visual "do not disturb" sign, the hardware integrates with smart home ecosystems via Matter. Users can trigger custom focus modes that automatically mute notifications, initiate Pomodoro timers, or display countdowns indicating when they will return to an available state.

Automation remains a core feature, allowing the unit to sync with specific software triggers like streaming, audio recording, or active phone calls. Pricing starts at $249, though the first 3,000 units sold will be discounted to $199. Those who secured a spot on the early waitlist are eligible for a $179 price point.
