The supply agreement, cited by the Maeil Business Newspaper, positions the Texas site as a critical node for high-performance computing components. While AMD has claimed the lion's share of the output, Nvidia is also slated to receive a portion of the memory chips produced at the facility. This strategic move aligns with the broader industry trend of localizing semiconductor production to meet the soaring demand for advanced hardware used in artificial intelligence and data centers. The transition to a 2-nanometre process node marks a technical milestone for Samsung as it attempts to capture more market share from competitors in the high-end processor segment.
