The partnership addresses the growing friction in component lifecycles, where traditional supply channels often struggle to support legacy production. Flip Electronics will now integrate Synaptics’ specialized portfolio into its inventory, offering traceable, authorized parts to companies maintaining programs that rely on older technology. This move allows Synaptics to offload the logistical burden of obsolescence management while ensuring their long-term customers retain access to critical hardware.
Flip Electronics Inks Distribution Deal for Synaptics Legacy Parts
Alpharetta-based Flip Electronics has secured an authorized distribution partnership with Synaptics, aiming to stabilize supply chains for hard-to-find and discontinued components. The agreement focuses on providing continued access to aging embedded compute, wireless connectivity, and sensing hardware vital for automotive and IoT manufacturers worldwide.

Eric Stauffer, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing at Synaptics, noted that Flip’s focus on obsolescence was the primary driver for the collaboration. For Flip CEO Jason Murphy, the addition of Synaptics strengthens a line card already geared toward high-stakes sectors like aerospace, defense, and medical device manufacturing. By bridging the gap between original manufacturing and end-of-life support, the two companies aim to prevent production stalls in industries where component availability dictates program viability.
