The company’s latest research, which surveyed over 2,000 decision-makers, highlights a growing divide between AI investment and measurable efficiency. While 59% of global firms plan to increase AI spending in the coming year, many struggle with the lack of domain-specific intelligence in horizontal models. Infor’s new suite aims to address this by grounding agents in industry-specific logic—such as manufacturing supply chain nuances—rather than relying on generalized data models.
Infor Targets Industry-Specific AI to Bridge Enterprise Adoption Gap
Two out of three businesses report that generic, off-the-shelf artificial intelligence fails to meet their specific operational demands, according to new research from Infor. In response, the enterprise software provider has launched Infor Industry AI, an architecture designed to integrate industry-specific context directly into automated business agents.
At the core of the platform are four functional pillars: precise outcomes derived from micro-vertical AI expertise, an open architecture for third-party integration, an adaptive user experience, and a governance layer that embeds auditability into every autonomous action. By moving beyond isolated point solutions, Infor intends to help companies transition into "agentic enterprises" where human oversight and automated agents operate within a unified, governed framework. The initiative is bolstered by the Infor Velocity Suite, which bundles these agentic tools with implementation services to streamline the path from deployment to tangible business value.
