Issuance reached USD 1,084.4 billion across 5,566 deals through September, a 52.6 percent jump compared to the same period last year. While total volume is climbing, deal counts are thinning, revealing a market increasingly dominated by massive, AI-focused transactions rather than broad-based participation. Technology stocks accounted for roughly half of all deal flow in the third quarter alone, marking a record high for the sector.
Regional Divergence and Market Outlook
The Americas continue to set the pace for global activity, with the U.S. contributing nearly 44 percent of total volume in the third quarter, largely through follow-on offerings and convertibles. Conversely, the EMEA region has struggled to keep up, recording its weakest quarter of the year at just USD 37.2 billion. Analysts suggest this performance gap stems from a lack of domestic AI infrastructure industries comparable to those in the U.S. and China.
