Ontinue Launches Dark Web Monitoring to Secure External Perimeters

Compromised credentials often surface on underground forums within 24 hours, yet fewer than one in five organizations maintain continuous monitoring to mitigate these risks. Zurich-based Ontinue is now addressing this visibility gap by launching an integrated dark web monitoring service designed to intercept threats before they escalate into full-scale breaches.

Ontinue Launches Dark Web Monitoring to Secure External Perimeters

The new service, ION for Dark Web Monitoring, extends Ontinue’s existing Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR) platform. Rather than providing raw data feeds that overwhelm internal security teams, the service operationalizes intelligence by validating findings and automating response workflows. Moritz Mann, CEO of Ontinue, noted that the traditional security perimeter has dissolved, necessitating a proactive approach that tracks stolen credentials, typosquatting, and brand impersonation across the clear, deep, and dark web.

By integrating these external signals into the existing Microsoft Sentinel and ION SecOps environments, the service allows analysts to investigate external risks alongside internal telemetry. This unified approach aims to reduce the noise associated with standalone monitoring tools. According to IDC research, nearly one-third of MDR customers globally lack external monitoring, leaving a significant vulnerability. For companies like Epiq, the integration provides a streamlined way to manage external threats without deploying disparate, disconnected technologies. The service is available immediately as an add-on for current ION MXDR customers.
