The redesigned application features a three-tab architecture: Home, Code, and Autopilot. The Home interface serves as a personalized dashboard, aggregating email summaries, meeting requests, and active Teams threads to help users manage their workflow. Jared Spataro, chief marketing officer of AI at work at Microsoft, describes this space as a grounding point where employees can track recent activity and resume tasks.
In an unexpected move for a general-purpose productivity tool, Microsoft has integrated a Code tab. This feature leverages technology from GitHub Copilot, allowing users to build internal trackers, dashboards, or custom automations within a sandboxed, secure environment. These creations can be shared directly with colleagues as cloud-hosted apps, effectively lowering the barrier for non-developers to build functional tools.
