Bank of South Carolina Boosts Shareholder Payouts Amid National Ranking

Shareholders of Bank of South Carolina Corporation will receive a quarterly cash dividend of $0.25 per share, marking the 148th consecutive payout for the Charleston-based institution. This financial distribution coincides with the bank's recent emergence as the highest-ranked South Carolina lender on the American Banker list of top community banks.

The dividend payment, scheduled for October 30, 2026, applies to shareholders of record as of October 6. This consistent return to investors follows a strong performance period that secured the bank the 59th spot among the nation's top 200 publicly traded community banks with assets under $2 billion. The ranking, published in July by American Banker and compiled by Capital Performance Group, evaluated institutions based on their average return on equity between 2023 and 2025.

Eugene H. Walpole, IV, President and CEO, attributed the bank’s stability and consistent earnings to the dedication of its staff and customer base. Operating since 1987, the bank maintains a local footprint across the Charleston area, including branches in Summerville, Mt. Pleasant, and James Island. The corporation continues to trade on the OTCQX Best Market under the ticker symbol BKSC.
