Merry Life Biomedical has expanded the development of its investigational oral therapy, TML-6, into a global Phase 2 clinical trial. The study, which seeks to treat early Alzheimer’s disease by targeting the brain's protein-clearing autophagy-lysosomal pathway, will enroll 210 participants across 20 medical centers in Taiwan, Sweden, and the United States.
The study integrates international expertise in neurodegenerative diagnostics. Dr. Henrik Zetterberg will lead blood biomarker analysis, while Dr. Barbara B. Bendlin oversees amyloid PET and MRI imaging. Swedish clinical trial veteran Dr. Anne Börjesson-Hanson of the Karolinska Institute is spearheading the effort in Sweden, with plans to collaborate directly with Taiwanese principal investigators during the upcoming Taiwan Dementia Society meeting. As the company transitions from safety evaluation to efficacy testing, it is actively seeking strategic partnerships and capital-market financing to support eventual Phase 3 development and global commercialization.
