Deptula retired from the Air Force in 2010 after 34 years of service, establishing himself as a primary authority on airpower, spacepower, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations. His background in drone engineering aligns with the organization’s mission to provide independent research for the national security community.

Stacey A. Dixon brings extensive experience from the intelligence sector, including leadership roles at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and the CIA. She currently serves as a Distinguished Professor of the Practice at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. Board Chair Jim Shields noted that the combined expertise of both appointees will assist the organization in accelerating innovation and navigating the evolving technical landscape of national defense.
