The FLX Series simplifies system architecture by housing proven converters and EMI filters within a rugged, scalable frame. This approach allows for bus voltages of 28 V, 50 V, and 270 V, providing output power ranging from 1 W to 5,000 W with efficiencies reaching 90%. By moving to a unified assembly, manufacturers can reduce design risks and shorten integration timelines for platforms that demand high reliability.
VPT Launches Scalable FLX Series for Mission-Critical Power Needs
Engineers facing the challenge of integrating complex power systems now have a turnkey alternative. VPT, a subsidiary of HEICO, has unveiled its FLX Series—a configurable DC-DC converter platform designed to consolidate multiple modules into a single, prequalified assembly for military, avionics, and space applications.

Kevin Seaton, an advising engineer at VPT, noted that the series was developed to address the specific requirements of rugged environments. The hardware performs across a wide temperature range, operating continuously from -55°C to +110°C without power derating. For space-bound projects, the units offer radiation protection levels spanning from 30 krad to 100 krad. The modules are built to meet rigorous industry standards, including MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, and DO-160, and are manufactured in facilities certified to SAE AS9100 and J-STD-001 space standards.
