The announcement arrived Wednesday during a celebration at the organization’s Plainview campus, where leadership confirmed the transition. Dr. Manes, an orthopedic surgeon and attorney who grew his connection to the center from personal exercise classes to significant philanthropic investment, stated that the contribution aims to bolster the services the agency provides to the broader Long Island community.
Work is already underway to modernize the facility. Immediate capital projects include a parking lot overhaul, a new floor for the group fitness studio, and a full replacement of fitness center equipment that dates back to the building’s 2012 renovation. Board President Vicki Diamond noted that these initial tasks represent only the beginning of a broader strategic plan to allocate the funds.
