Google integrates Gemini Live into Gmail, Docs, and Keep

Navigating a cluttered inbox or drafting complex documents just became a hands-free affair. Google is deploying conversational AI voice modes across its core mobile productivity suite, allowing users to query, summarize, and organize information through natural speech rather than manual input or traditional keyword searching.

Google integrates Gemini Live into Gmail, Docs, and Keep

The rollout introduces Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live, extending the functionality of the existing Gemini Live chatbot directly into personal workflows. Gmail Live functions as an intelligent filter for correspondence, enabling users to ask specific questions about upcoming events or deadlines. The assistant parses email threads to deliver verbal summaries, providing on-screen citations that link back to the original source material. Users can interrupt the AI mid-response or pivot to follow-up questions without restarting the session.

Docs Live and Keep Live focus on content creation and organization. The document assistant can synthesize information from Drive, Chat, and the web to draft proposals or summarize lengthy files based on conversational prompts. Meanwhile, Keep Live interprets informal speech to update lists and notes, intelligently categorizing items without requiring rigid syntax. First previewed at Google I/O in May, these features are now reaching mobile users worldwide in English.
