Anker is moving to keep smart home data off the cloud with the introduction of MindBase, a local AI hub designed to process security footage and device automation entirely on-device. Unveiled at IFA in Berlin, the hub aims to serve as a central controller for home connectivity and security without subscription fees.
Alongside the hub, the company debuted several hardware additions. The Eufy S4 video doorbell, priced at $299.99, offers a 180-degree panoramic view and VR-inspired mobile navigation. Other new entries include the $70 E10 window camera, which uses on-device sound detection, and a wall-mounted mmWave sensor designed to detect falls and initiate voice checks. Spokesperson Janet Jin confirmed that the system is designed to integrate third-party cameras, marking a shift toward an open ecosystem. This focus on local processing follows Eufy's past challenges regarding encryption, with the company emphasizing that no footage leaves the home environment.
