Valley Oaks Health Adds Primary Care to Rensselaer Clinic

The new service offering addresses a growing disparity in medical access, where rural regions currently see only five primary care physicians per 10,000 residents, compared to eight in urban areas. By integrating these services into an established behavioral health facility, the organization hopes to simplify the healthcare journey for local families.

Patients can now access routine wellness visits, preventive care, chronic disease management, and urgent sick visits. Dan Arens, President and CEO of Valley Oaks Health, noted that the initiative acts as a vital safety net for a community struggling with timely medical access. The clinic remains open to all community members, regardless of their existing behavioral health status. To ensure financial accessibility, the facility accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and most commercial insurance plans, while providing assistance options for the uninsured.
