Yank Technologies Wins Space Force Contract for Orbital Wireless Charging
Brooklyn-based Yank Technologies has secured a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research contract from SpaceWERX to develop wireless power systems for satellites. The initiative aims to eliminate the need for traditional mechanical docking, potentially extending the operational life of orbital assets by enabling mid-mission electrical recharging.

Unlike standard interfaces, this system maintains high-efficiency energy transfer even as electrical loads fluctuate or the relative positions of spacecraft shift. By facilitating power delivery without robotic coupling or physical mating, the company hopes to streamline orbital logistics. CEO Josh Yank noted that the technology serves as a foundational element for future missions, allowing for reliable, safe energy sharing between assets currently operating in space.
