Sorenson arrives at Woolpert following senior roles at industry heavyweights including AtkinsRéalis, AECOM, and Atlas. At Atlas, she oversaw operations across the western United States, managing a portfolio supported by a team of more than 800 employees. Her background as a licensed civil engineer provides a technical foundation that spans municipal and federal infrastructure programs, a combination President and CEO Neil Churman cited as critical for the firm’s current trajectory.
Woolpert Taps Jen Sorenson to Lead Infrastructure Expansion
After two decades of navigating large-scale engineering projects, Jen Sorenson has been named Executive Vice President of Infrastructure at Woolpert. Based in the firm’s Austin office, she is tasked with scaling the company’s transportation, energy, and water sectors while managing both organic growth and strategic acquisitions on a global level.

Beyond her operational experience, Sorenson will focus on fostering cross-sector collaboration to address increasingly complex client challenges. Her appointment arrives as Woolpert looks to leverage its presence across five continents to secure a larger footprint in the global architecture, engineering, and geospatial markets. A graduate of the University of North Dakota and The University of Texas at Austin, Sorenson has frequently been recognized for her leadership, including honors from The Chief Navigators and Women We Admire.
