The gala serves as a primary funding vehicle for the USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation, which aims to dismantle geographic and financial barriers to the sport. Proceeds from the evening will support core initiatives including the Girls Rule the Court program, junior scholarships, and the ongoing refurbishment of public tennis infrastructure. Over the past three years, the foundation has invested $505,000 into 17 public venues to support a regional base of 1.4 million players.
Malika Andrews to Host USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation Gala
ESPN broadcaster Malika Andrews will take the stage on November 14 at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, to emcee the 4th annual Tennis Creates Gala. The event gathers regional business and philanthropic leaders to raise funds for expanding tennis accessibility across the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Beyond the fundraising efforts, the evening will honor Vice Admiral Sean S. Buck, the retired 63rd Superintendent of the United States Naval Academy, with the 2026 Tennis Creates Impact Award. The foundation, which reached over 114,500 youth in 2025, continues to focus its resources on public park and school-based programs to ensure long-term community access to the sport.
