Lurie Children’s Opens Dedicated Specialty Pharmacy in Schaumburg

The pharmacy, which opened August 13, 2026, at 1895 Arbor Glen Boulevard, is the result of a partnership with Boston-based Clearway Health that began in early 2025. By embedding patient liaisons directly into clinical teams—including hematology, oncology, and endocrinology—the hospital intends to remove traditional administrative hurdles like prior authorizations and benefit investigations. This shift allows medical staff to dedicate more time to direct patient care while ensuring families receive faster, more convenient access to essential treatments, home delivery, and over-the-counter options.

Tom Shanley, president and CEO of Lurie Children’s, noted that the facility serves both a clinical and long-term strategic function by anchoring comprehensive support services within the hospital system. Brandon Newman, CEO of Clearway Health, added that the collaboration focuses on integrating operational expertise to simplify the care journey for families dealing with complex health needs. The new center is situated on the third floor of the Lurie Children's Outpatient and Infusion Center, marking a significant expansion of the hospital's independent, research-driven care infrastructure in Illinois.
