Zum Opens Philadelphia Operations Hub Amid Hiring Surge

More than 200 prospective school bus drivers and their families gathered in Philadelphia this week to tour Zum’s new operations center. The event marked a critical hiring milestone for the student mobility company as it prepares to launch its partnership with the School District of Philadelphia this academic year.

The facility is designed as a central hub for the company's regional fleet, offering drivers access to updated training, real-time support technology, and modern amenities. By establishing this dedicated space, Zum aims to stabilize its local workforce and provide the infrastructure necessary for managing student transit across the district.

Liz Sanchez, Executive Vice President of Student Mobility at Zum, noted that the high turnout signals significant local interest in the company’s approach to school transportation. For the upcoming 2026–27 school year, the firm intends to replace traditional, fragmented transit systems with a more connected, transparent model. The Philadelphia expansion is part of a broader national growth strategy that now encompasses over 6,500 schools across 18 states, including major districts in Boston, San Francisco, and Seattle.
