Launched in October 2025 with an ambitious initial batch of 885,000 articles, the project aimed to leverage xAI technology to redefine collaborative knowledge. By November 2025, the platform reached version 0.2 and claimed a massive expansion in content volume. However, recent analysis by Lawfare reveals a stark disconnect between that growth and actual functionality. Their investigation into over 34,000 pages containing more than 225,000 user-recommended edits found zero evidence of processing since April 24th.
Elon Musk’s Grokipedia Stagnates After Months of Inactivity
Three months have passed since a single entry was updated on Grokipedia, the AI-driven encyclopedia project once championed by Elon Musk as a superior alternative to Wikipedia. Despite hosting over six million articles, the platform appears to have abandoned its real-time editing function, leaving thousands of user suggestions in a digital limbo.

The site’s own live dashboard now displays a message confirming that no live edits are available, fueling speculation among users on Reddit and X regarding the project's long-term viability. While the interface still invites visitors to suggest new entries or corrections, these inputs appear to be hitting a dead end. The silence from xAI matches the lack of public engagement from Musk himself, whose last mention of the platform on X dates back to February. With no official response to inquiries, the status of Grokipedia remains effectively dormant.
