Advantech Debuts AMD EPYC 9006 Server Lineup for Edge AI

Advantech is rolling out a new suite of server and network platforms integrated with AMD EPYC 9006 Series processors. The hardware, designed to bridge the gap between data centers and intelligent edge environments, aims to bolster processing capabilities for high-performance AI, telecommunications, and industrial automation workloads.

The latest server generation leverages AMD’s 2nm "Zen 6" and "Zen 6c" architecture, offering up to 128 cores and 256 threads per processor. These systems promise a 20% gain in both performance and power efficiency over previous iterations. By incorporating CXL 3.1 memory expansion and support for DDR5 8000MHz memory, the architecture is engineered to handle memory-intensive AI tasks and large-scale data throughput with reduced latency.

Advantech’s rollout features a wide range of form factors, including the SKY-642E5 4U GPU server for large-scale acceleration and the short-depth SKY-822E5, tailored for space-constrained edge deployments. The company is also addressing network-heavy environments with the FWA-6084 appliance, which supports eight Gen6 network modules to facilitate high-speed, 200G throughput. These platforms focus on modularity and scalability, allowing organizations to standardize hardware from the cloud to the industrial edge.
