Miami Litigation Firm Elevates Partners in Strategic Rebrand

The Miami-based litigation firm formerly known as Kaplan Rothstein has expanded its masthead to become Kaplan Rothstein Prüss Peraza, P.A. This rebranding marks the formal elevation of Lorenz Michel Prüss, the firm's inaugural hire, and partner Alexander M. Peraza, signaling a shift in leadership structure while maintaining existing practice areas.

The transition reflects organic growth rather than an acquisition, focusing on internal talent development. Lorenz Michel Prüss, who joined the firm at its inception, has built a specialized reputation in complex litigation and serves frequently as a court-appointed receiver. His partner, Alexander M. Peraza, brings both a legal practice and significant civic influence, including his role on the Board of Trustees at Florida International University and an appointment to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission by Governor Ron DeSantis.

Despite the change in nomenclature, the firm’s operational focus remains fixed on high-stakes litigation. KRP2 continues to represent clients in cases involving securities and cryptocurrency fraud, consumer protection, data breach litigation, and complex commercial disputes such as corporate divorces and real estate conflicts. Founder Jeffrey Kaplan emphasized that the move is designed to acknowledge the contributions of Prüss and Peraza, whose professional reputations and collaborative approach now anchor the firm’s future.
