Plano will host the first Texas outpost of Ono Hawaiian BBQ on July 24, marking a significant expansion for the California-based chain. Located at 8724 Preston Rd., the new restaurant brings the company’s signature island-inspired plate lunches and drive-thru service to a state known for its own distinct barbecue traditions.

Joshua Liang, co-founder and CEO of Ono Hawaiian BBQ, described the move into the Dallas area as a long-awaited milestone for the company. To mark the opening, the restaurant will host a promotional event on July 24, offering buy-one-get-one-free deals throughout the day. The celebration also includes a giveaway featuring a trip to the OUTRIGGER Waikīkī Beachcomber Hotel and tickets to Cirque du Soleil's ʻAuana, emphasizing the brand's attempt to weave Hawaiian hospitality into the local North Texas dining landscape.
