The three-year contract represents a significant victory for the bargaining unit, which prioritized the preservation of health care benefits and increased contributions to the Teamsters Pension Fund. Chad Baker, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 763, credited the win to the collective resolve of the employees who refused to accept cuts to their long-term financial security.

Shop steward Joe Palmer highlighted a shift in the tone of the discussions, noting that the city’s new administration approached the table with a willingness to address staff concerns directly. This collaborative approach allowed both sides to align their goals, ensuring that the agreement supports the city’s operational needs while providing fair compensation for the staff who maintain local roads, parks, and utilities.
