Al Dahra Shifts Focus from Sustainability Foundations to Scale

Group CEO Arnoud van den Berg stated that the 2025 milestone marks a move toward measurable action in risk reduction and emissions across the company’s global supply chain. The firm has now completed a comprehensive greenhouse gas inventory covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, establishing a baseline to track carbon intensity per hectare. To support this data-driven shift, the company is adopting the Sandy by Trinity AgTech platform for natural capital reporting.

Operational improvements are most visible in the field. In Romania, 76% of cultivated land now utilizes reduced-tillage practices, while Egypt has expanded no-till farming to improve soil health and water efficiency under arid conditions. Beyond land management, Al Dahra has overhauled its logistics, increasing biofuel-powered shipping fourfold and shifting inland transport in Romania to barge systems, which eliminated approximately 200 truck movements weekly.

Social and governance indicators also showed gains. The company reported zero fatalities in 2025, while increasing safety training hours from 41,000 to 59,000. Employee engagement reached 76%, outperforming industry benchmarks, and the firm invested over AED 2 million into community development projects. These initiatives align with a broader 2030 target: managing 500,000 hectares of sustainable, digitally integrated farmland to bolster global food security.
