Jinxin Technology Targets China's Growing AI Toy Market

With the children’s AI hardware sector projected to reach 100 billion yuan by 2030, Nasdaq-listed Jinxin Technology is pivoting toward physical goods. The Shanghai-based firm recently launched its Bululu and Damoon plush companions, aiming to capture a market segment currently seeing a 276% year-over-year surge in online demand.

Jinxin Technology Targets China's Growing AI Toy Market

Jinxin Technology, known for its Namibox educational platform, is integrating its proprietary AI models into screen-free hardware to address parental concerns over screen time. Unlike standard audio-based toys, these devices utilize tactile sensors to respond to a child's touch and emotional state. By syncing the hardware with official K-12 textbook content, the company intends to bridge the gap between entertainment and supplemental schooling, moving beyond the fragmented content typical of current market offerings.

To secure a foothold in the competitive retail landscape, Jinxin has deployed a multi-channel strategy ranging from e-commerce giants like JD.com and Tmall to direct distribution through China Mobile’s subscriber network. This approach aims to convert the company's existing user base while tapping into the vast, under-penetrated market of families who have yet to adopt AI-assisted learning tools. Looking ahead, the company plans to diversify its revenue by developing customized versions for museums and medical institutions, effectively expanding its reach from the classroom to the broader cultural tourism and maternal-infant sectors.
