The expansion builds on domain APIs introduced in July, now creating a unified pipeline for web applications. By integrating Node.js hosting, the platform enables developers to deploy apps with automatic HTTPS, firewall protection, and CDN support without leaving their command-line interface. This shift addresses the friction developers face when jumping between disconnected services for domain management, email configuration, and commerce tools.
Hemanth Guntupalli, chief technology officer of platforms at GoDaddy, noted that the infrastructure aims to match the speed of AI-driven coding. While AI can generate functional software in minutes, the secondary tasks of setting up a business environment often remain manual. The new API suite allows these processes to be scripted, letting agents handle everything from purchasing a domain to configuring MX, SPF, and DKIM settings.
