St. John’s Foundation to Host 2027 Gala for Ventura County Cancer Care

Under the theme "Beneath the Spanish Sky," the St. John’s Healthcare Foundation will gather community leaders at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village on May 1, 2027. The black-tie event aims to secure critical funding for expanded oncology services and advanced medical technology across Ventura County’s hospital network.

The gala, titled Adventure, kicks off at 4:30 p.m. with a program featuring tasting stations, live entertainment, and auctions. Every dollar generated during the evening is earmarked for the foundation’s cancer care initiatives, including infusion treatments, diagnostic imaging, and the network’s integrated breast centers in Oxnard and Camarillo.

Beyond fundraising, the evening serves to present the Catherine McAuley Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Raj Bhatia and David Edsall. Dr. Bhatia, a veteran medical director of the ICU/CCU department, has spent two decades shaping the hospital’s pulmonary and critical care standards. Edsall, a founding partner at Edsall Law, is recognized for his 12-year tenure on the foundation board and his history as its chair.

Heather Huffman, Vice President of Philanthropy, emphasized that the event is designed to keep specialized care accessible within the local community. Sponsorship packages for the gala are currently available from $2,500 to $25,000, while individual tickets are priced at $450.
