The transaction involved complex legal coordination provided by the global law firm Greenberg Traurig, which represented Brandywine Realty Trust throughout the disposition. The project serves as a cornerstone for growth in the Schuylkill Yards district, a development area Brandywine is actively transforming. Shareholders Joshua D. Cohen and David B. Lipner led the legal team, drawing on interdisciplinary support from across the firm's national platform to finalize the deal.
Burlington Stores to Move Headquarters to Philadelphia's University City
Burlington Stores is relocating its corporate headquarters from New Jersey to a 441,000-square-foot office building at 3151 Market St. in Philadelphia. The move, facilitated by Brandywine Realty Trust, is expected to generate approximately 2,000 new jobs within the city over the next five years.

Local officials, including Governor Josh Shapiro and Mayor Cherelle Parker, supported the relocation, citing its potential economic impact on the commonwealth. Brandywine General Counsel Shawn Neuman noted that the firm’s ability to provide integrated counsel across multiple real estate disciplines proved critical to meeting the transaction's objectives. With Burlington planning to occupy the entire facility, the move marks a shift in the regional corporate landscape, moving thousands of roles into the heart of Philadelphia's University City neighborhood.
