The new venture focuses on bridging traditional Japanese storytelling with Anamana Studio, a proprietary agentic AI suite that aims to slash production costs by up to 97%. By providing local writers, directors, and studios with capital and technical infrastructure, the hub intends to build a high-volume pipeline of original, animated content for international distribution.
Anamana Launches Tokyo Hub to Scale AI-Powered Anime Micro-Serials
With the global vertical mobile entertainment market surpassing $5 billion, Anamana is planting a flag in Tokyo to capture the Japanese narrative powerhouse. The company has partnered with Marketing Monster Inc. to establish Anamana Japan, a dedicated hub designed to integrate local creators into its global AI production ecosystem.

Industry veterans Yota Tsunoe and Masashi Kawamata lead the Tokyo operation. Kawamata, an alumnus of the Anamana 100 Creator Incubator, spearheaded the initiative to localize the platform's support systems for Japanese talent. The inaugural production slate leans into popular genres, including revenge dramas, dark fantasy, and supernatural romance. Titles such as 'The Headless Knight' and 'The Wolf Samurai I Killed Off' are already in development, targeting a global audience across 15 languages via the Anamana mobile app.
