Investors Eye Class Action Against Flotek After Failed Puerto Rico Deal

A 20 percent stock plunge following the collapse of a major Puerto Rico energy contract has triggered a class action lawsuit against Flotek Industries. The legal firm Robbins LLP is now calling on shareholders who acquired securities between August 3 and August 17, 2026, to consider acting as lead plaintiffs.

The litigation centers on allegations that Flotek misled the market regarding a $400 million agreement with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority. While the company initially touted the 10-year, 400 MW natural gas project as a cornerstone of its future revenue, the deal unraveled when Wolfpack Research reported its cancellation. The complaint asserts that Flotek failed to disclose significant doubts about the consortium’s financial capacity, leaving investors exposed when the agreement was abruptly terminated.

Flotek shares cratered by $7.17 on August 17, 2026, following the news, as the market reacted to the loss of what amounted to approximately 57 percent of the company’s backlog. With the October 26, 2026, deadline for lead plaintiff applications approaching, Robbins LLP is coordinating the case on a contingency basis. Founding partner Brian J. Robbins emphasized that the firm aims to address the alleged lack of transparency, noting that corporations hold a fundamental obligation to provide accurate data to ensure market efficiency.
