Kawasaki Robotics Debuts Compact CP110L Palletizer for Tight Spaces

Space constraints often derail factory automation plans, forcing manufacturers to choose between footprint and output. Kawasaki Robotics is addressing this friction at PACK EXPO International 2026, where it will debut the CP110L, a high-speed palletizing robot engineered to maximize throughput within limited floor and ceiling dimensions.

The CP110L fits into environments where traditional automation struggles, requiring just 2,242 mm of ceiling clearance. Despite its compact footprint, the unit handles a 110-kg payload and reaches up to 2,505 mm. During demonstrations in Chicago, the robot will showcase its versatility by handling both boxed and bagged goods using a single custom Piab end-of-arm tool, eliminating the need for frequent tooling changes.

Technical performance remains a priority, with the system capable of processing 2,200 cases per hour. To improve reliability in cramped layouts, the design features a hollow wrist for internal cable routing, which prevents interference with surrounding machinery. The unit also includes a power-regeneration function that converts deceleration energy into electricity, a feature designed for the frequent vertical motion inherent in palletizing.

Paul Marcovecchio, Director of GI Industries at Kawasaki Robotics, noted that the machine was developed specifically for the reality of end-of-line environments where space is at a premium. The launch arrives as investment in robotics continues to climb, with 61% of end users planning to increase their automation spend over the next year according to PMMI. Alongside the CP110L, Kawasaki will exhibit its RS013N and RS025N models, highlighting a broader strategy to provide scalable, turnkey automation for diverse production needs.
