The new law, approved unanimously by the Delaware General Assembly, mandates faster response times for payers and introduces provisional credentialing to prevent delays in patient care. By creating a standardized framework for enrollment, the state expects to reduce the duplicative paperwork that often prevents clinicians from joining provider networks. Starting January 1, 2028, all carriers and intermediaries must adhere to this uniform application process.
Delaware Streamlines Provider Credentialing for Pharmacists
Governor Matt Meyer signed Senate Bill 334 into law on September 8, 2026, establishing a uniform credentialing standard across Delaware. The legislation aims to dismantle administrative bottlenecks in health care, explicitly recognizing Pharmacy Profiles as a primary resource for verifying the credentials of pharmacy professionals statewide.

Mark Pilkington, executive director of Pharmacy Profiles, noted that the statute validates the essential role of pharmacists as primary care providers. This legislative shift builds upon a 2025 partnership between Pharmacy Profiles and the Delaware Pharmacy Society, which focused on simplifying verification services. According to Kim Robbins, executive director of the Delaware Pharmacy Society, the measure ensures that bureaucratic hurdles no longer obstruct the delivery of critical community health services.
