Construction Partners Expands Texas Footprint with J.H. Strain Buy
Construction Partners, Inc. has acquired the asphalt manufacturing and construction assets of Tye-based J.H. Strain & Sons, Inc., marking a strategic expansion into the Abilene market. The deal integrates two hot-mix asphalt plants and a workforce of over 125 employees into the company’s existing Lone Star Paving platform.

President and CEO Fred J. Smith, III noted that the move is designed to leverage the region's diversified economy. Ross and Kent Strain will join the CPI organization, with their local expertise serving as a foundation for the company’s continued growth strategy throughout the Sunbelt. This transaction highlights CPI’s ongoing push to consolidate local roadwork markets through its vertically integrated model.
