Aker BP Overhauls Leadership to Streamline North Sea Operations
Aker BP is restructuring its executive leadership effective January 1, 2027, shifting focus toward a value-chain model. The reorganization aims to simplify internal operations and accelerate project development across the Norwegian continental shelf, marking a strategic pivot as the company seeks to adapt to evolving industry demands.

The new structure divides leadership into specific value chain and support functions. Petter Sørhaug will oversee Find & Develop, while Tommy Sigmundstad takes on Build, Lars Høier leads Produce, Øystein Arvesen manages Optimise, and Knut Sandvik directs PDO Projects. Supporting these operations are CFO David Tønne, Marit Blaasmo in Services, Thomas Hoff-Hansen in Digital, Paula Doyle for Strategic Innovation, and Rolf Nystein leading Transformation. Management is developing these changes in coordination with employee representatives and the company’s safety delegate service to ensure alignment during the transition.
