The scale of modern constituent communication has outpaced the administrative capacity of most legislative offices. While residents now reach out through social media, website forms, and diverse digital channels, many government staff still rely on disconnected applications to track interactions. This fragmentation often leads to massive backlogs, with some offices reportedly managing hundreds of thousands of unanswered emails.
Kokot, a U.S. Navy veteran with legislative experience, designed the Civic platform to centralize these disparate streams. By integrating with tools like Outlook and Gmail, the software uses AI to categorize incoming messages, update records, and generate geographic heat maps of constituent concerns. This allows staff to identify recurring legislative issues or neighborhood service requests that might otherwise remain buried in old correspondence.
