The latest price hikes target Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 boards, alongside the Compute Module 4 and 5, specifically for configurations featuring 2GB of memory or more. Users can expect a $10 increase for 2GB models, while the 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB variants will see jumps of $15, $30, and $60 respectively. This follows a December cycle where prices rose between $5 and $25.
Raspberry Pi Increases Prices Again Amid Memory Component Shortages
Two months after an initial round of hikes, Raspberry Pi is raising prices on select single-board computers once more. CEO Eben Upton cited a sharp surge in component costs, noting that the price of specific parts has more than doubled over the last quarter, forcing another round of retail adjustments.
Not all products are caught in this trend. The 1GB Raspberry Pi 4 and 5, the Raspberry Pi 400, and legacy hardware like the Raspberry Pi 3 and Zero remain unaffected. Upton stated that the company maintains several years of inventory for the LPDDR2 memory used in those older units, insulating them from current market volatility. While he anticipates a difficult 2026 for memory procurement, he views these measures as temporary and intends to roll them back once supply costs stabilize.
