The EG700 represents a significant hardware upgrade, utilizing the MediaTek Filogic 880 quad-core processor to facilitate 10 Gbps Ethernet throughput. By running OpenSync 6.6, the gateway leverages AI-driven intelligence for band and client steering, ensuring stable connectivity for data-heavy tasks like 8K streaming and low-latency gaming. The architecture includes a 10 Gbps WAN port alongside three 1 Gbps LAN ports, with the 6 GHz radio band alone capable of delivering speeds up to 11.5 Gbps.
Ubee Interactive Debuts OpenSync-Certified Wi-Fi 7 Gateway
Ubee Interactive has secured full OpenSync certification for its EG700 tri-band gateway, integrating the device into Plume Design’s HomePass, WorkPass, and Uprise service suites. This certification enables service providers to deploy the hardware as a cloud-managed mesh node capable of supporting high-bandwidth demands across fiber and broadband networks.
John May, vice president of business development at Ubee, noted that this milestone provides operators with a unified platform for next-generation connectivity. The device joins the existing UBC1329 DOCSIS gateway within the Plume ecosystem, marking Ubee’s first foray into certified Wi-Fi 7 hardware. The unit is currently available for evaluation by service providers aiming to scale their smart home and enterprise offerings.
