The program, which debuted September 22, arrives as an expansion of the organization's advocacy efforts. Across 24 scheduled episodes, the hosts plan to interview veteran athletes, caregivers, and medical researchers to explore topics ranging from legislative policy to adaptive sports. PVA CEO Carl Blake described the initiative as a deliberate effort to ensure veterans dealing with conditions like MS and ALS feel both seen and heard through a medium that emphasizes human connection over static information.
Paralyzed Veterans of America Launches Podcast for SCI/D Community
U.S. Navy SEAL veteran Al Kovach and reporter Chad Stewart have taken to the airwaves with "Voices of PVA," a new podcast dedicated to the experiences of those living with spinal cord injuries and diseases. The series aims to bridge the gap between clinical healthcare battles and the reality of daily life.

For the organization, the podcast marks a shift in how it disseminates practical guidance to its 33 chapters nationwide. While the nonprofit has long utilized magazines like Paraplegic News to share technical updates, the audio format is intended to capture the nuance of lived experience. As Kovach noted, the project succeeds if it helps a single listener feel less isolated or provides a veteran with a previously unknown resource. New installments are set to release every other week, with the organization hosting archives and subscription links through its official portal and Substack.
