Quarterhill has received TOPAS 2505B registration for its TMB-13X multilane intersection radar, clearing the path for the Canadian firm to supply traffic detection technology across the United Kingdom. This regulatory milestone allows the company to compete directly in a market where thousands of traffic signals require modern, above-ground sensing solutions.
With approximately 6,400 traffic signal sites in London alone, the UK represents a high-demand environment for Quarterhill’s expansion. Donna Bergan, Vice President of Intelligent Transportation Systems, noted that the registration enables the company to offer a flexible tool that minimizes disruption for road users while simplifying installation. The product is now available for order, marking a strategic step in Quarterhill’s broader effort to scale its intelligent transportation platform internationally. This move follows a period of corporate growth for the company, which recently reported its strongest quarterly profitability in three years and is currently finalizing the acquisition of Conduent’s tolling solutions business.
