BioCytics is developing a personalized immuno-oncology platform designed to isolate, expand, and re-invigorate a patient's own immune cells to combat cancer. To ensure these cells are primed for tumor destruction, the company is utilizing Eremid’s specialized capabilities in single-cell RNA sequencing and TCR sequencing. This data will provide a granular look at the mechanisms behind the cells' expansion and confirm their readiness for reinfusion.
BioCytics and Eremid Partner to Advance Solid Tumor Cell Therapies
Huntersville-based BioCytics has tapped Eremid Genomic Services to conduct high-resolution transcriptomic analysis on its lead autologous immune cell therapy. The collaboration focuses on characterizing immune precursors and expanded cells, aiming to validate the efficacy and stability of the treatment before it moves into clinical application for solid tumors.

Dr. Renaud Warin, CSO at BioCytics, noted that these molecular insights are essential for validating the therapy’s stability across diverse patient samples. Beyond immediate clinical validation, the study intends to refine predictive models for anti-cancer responses based on individual immune profiles. For Eremid, the partnership represents a strategic application of their CLIA-certified genomic expertise, supporting the development of non-genetically modified effector cells intended to treat solid tumors at various stages.
