The settlement involves Banco Santander México, BBVA México, Citibanamex, Deutsche Bank México, HSBC México, and Bank of America México. While these institutions have agreed to the payout to resolve the litigation, they continue to deny any liability or wrongdoing regarding the alleged price-fixing schemes. Plaintiffs claimed the defendants artificially inflated bond prices and suppressed bid-ask spreads, harming market participants.
The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York is overseeing the process. Eligible class members include individuals and entities that engaged in Mexican Government Bond transactions—such as CETES, Bondes D, UDIBONOS, or BONOS—either while domiciled in the U.S. or through transactions conducted within its territories during the specified period. Those who previously filed a claim related to earlier settlements with JPMorgan and Barclays do not need to submit new paperwork to participate.
