By integrating school gardens and sustainable supply chains, the project seeks to move beyond simple food aid toward community-led durability. In Ghana, the program collaborates with organizations including CARE and Fairtrade Africa to incorporate intercropping techniques, while in Kenya, the focus rests on solar-powered cooking infrastructure and fortified bean production.
Beast Philanthropy and Rockefeller Foundation Launch School Meal Initiative
Beast Philanthropy and The Rockefeller Foundation are launching regenerative school meal programs in Ghana and Kenya, aiming to provide daily lunches for 4,000 children. The partnership leverages Jimmy Donaldson’s digital reach alongside the foundation’s expertise in food systems to combat child labor and improve educational outcomes through locally sourced, sustainable nutrition.
Dr. Rajiv J. Shah, President of The Rockefeller Foundation, noted that the collaboration pairs a century of food systems expertise with a platform capable of motivating global audiences. The partners previously conducted site visits in January 2026 to align the programs with local needs. Over the next five years, the project will document its progress to demonstrate that sustainable development can effectively support vulnerable communities while reducing the reliance on traditional, harmful cooking fuels.
