New Cargo Bracket Aims to Solve Flatbed Strapping Hazards

A professional truck driver from Bruderheim, Alberta, has developed the D D BRACKET to address the perennial headache of securing cargo straps on flatbed trailers. Designed to hold strap ends firmly in place on side rails, the device prevents accidental slipping while a driver moves to operate the ratchet.

The invention targets a specific operational frustration: the tendency for strap ends to slide off the rail before they can be tensioned over a load. By functioning as a temporary retainer, the bracket allows a single operator to manage heavy-duty strapping without the risk of the strap falling away during the tightening process. The design prioritizes ease of use for independent drivers and large-scale logistics fleets alike.

InventHelp, which manages the licensing and marketing for the project, has confirmed that both a prototype and technical drawings are available for interested manufacturers. The invention, filed under reference number TRO-1670, is currently open for commercial acquisition.
