This collaboration, first announced in May, marks a shift toward public transparency in a market increasingly segmented by exclusive, private listing databases. By labeling homes as Preview listings, both platforms now offer standardized visibility, allowing prospective buyers to save properties, request tours, and secure mortgage pre-approval before a home officially hits the MLS. Over 400 brokerages, including major players like Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices and RE/MAX, have already enrolled in the program.
Zillow and Realtor.com Sync Pre-Market Listings to Expand Buyer Access
Starting today, Zillow and Realtor.com are syndicating pre-market home listings across both platforms, effectively creating the largest open network for early-access real estate in the United States. The partnership eliminates the need for private brokerage networks, allowing any buyer to view upcoming properties simultaneously on the two most-visited housing websites.

For sellers, the unified reach provides a significant marketing advantage. Data indicates that Preview listings see 18% more views and 9% more shares during their first two weeks compared to standard listings. Agents gain access to pricing intelligence based on early traffic, while consumers retain the flexibility to contact either the listing agent or a buyer’s representative. According to Christopher Roberts, Zillow’s chief product officer, this move directly challenges industry trends that restrict early inventory to closed groups, arguing that broad exposure benefits all parties involved.
