The 2026.08.0 release eliminates outdated descriptors such as "developing asymmetry" in mammography and "focus" in breast MRI, replacing them with current ACR-approved vocabulary. By embedding these changes directly into its structured reporting tools, the platform aims to reduce ambiguity across diagnostic reports. CEO Emily Crane stated that the update prioritizes clinical alignment without disrupting established physician workflows.
Ikonopedia Updates Breast Imaging Platform for BI-RADS 2025 Standards
Dallas-based Ikonopedia has integrated the American College of Radiology’s BI-RADS v2025 (6th Edition) standards into its latest software release. Deployed on September 15, the update mandates new terminology for mammography, ultrasound, and MRI workflows while refining how clinical sites track cancer detection methods to improve diagnostic consistency.

Beyond terminology, the software expands its Method of Detection (MOD) tracking capabilities. As BI-RADS v2025 encourages more rigorous documentation of how cancers are identified, Ikonopedia now offers advanced auditing tools to link detection methods with patient outcomes. These analytics allow facilities to evaluate their screening performance and support broader quality improvement initiatives. The release also includes general performance enhancements derived from recent user feedback, further streamlining the cloud-based reporting system for radiology practices.
