Sentara Health Pilots AI to Streamline Primary Care Workflows

Facing a surge in patient complexity and clinician shortages, Sentara Health is launching a pilot program with GW RhythmX to integrate AI-driven intelligence directly into primary care encounters. The initiative aims to replace fragmented data sources with real-time, actionable insights that assist clinical teams during the actual point of care.

The collaboration centers on the RhythmX Precision Care Platform, which aggregates patient histories, evidence-based guidelines, and social determinants of health to offer personalized recommendations. By surfacing this data during the patient visit, the platform seeks to reduce the administrative burden on providers, allowing them to focus on team-based care models involving pharmacists, nurses, and community health coaches.

Deepthi Bathina, CEO of GW RhythmX, noted that the industry is struggling to bridge the gap between strategic care design and daily execution. This pilot represents a shift toward embedding clinical, financial, and social data into existing workflows. For Sentara Health, the goal is to evaluate if such technology can maintain high-quality, personalized outcomes while scaling care delivery to meet rising demand. The partnership follows GW RhythmX’s recent integration efforts within Microsoft Marketplace and Dragon Copilot, marking a broader trend of health systems adopting tools for real-time clinical decision-making.
