Cumulus Neuroscience unveiled new clinical data at the ISCTM Autumn Conference in Philadelphia, demonstrating that patients with complex central nervous system disorders maintain high adherence to frequent digital home monitoring. The findings suggest that remote, multimodal data collection could replace burdensome, infrequent clinic visits in future clinical trials.

The company presented three distinct studies highlighting the efficacy of its NeuLogiq platform. In a seven-week observational study of 51 participants with borderline personality disorder, patients recorded adherence rates exceeding 85% for cognitive and EEG assessments. These results address a long-standing challenge in BPD research, where symptom variability often escapes detection during traditional, sparse clinical check-ins. System Usability Scale scores remained high throughout the trial, confirming that the digital approach is both feasible and well-tolerated by patients.

A second study focusing on therapy-resistant depression monitored 15 patients undergoing esketamine treatment. By integrating twice-daily home assessments with structured in-clinic sessions, researchers achieved 90.5% adherence for home tasks. The data indicate that such portable platforms capture neuroplasticity markers within a naturalistic context, potentially providing a more accurate view of drug efficacy than traditional methods.

Finally, the company showcased a two-minute digital cognitive task, Symbol Swap, which serves as a pre-enrichment screening tool for Alzheimer’s disease trials. Pooled analysis of 1,280 participants revealed that the task performs as well as, or better than, clinical benchmarks that typically require up to 45 minutes to administer. By better identifying patients with underlying Alzheimer’s pathology, this tool offers a pathway to reduce screen-failure rates and accelerate the recruitment process for large-scale pharmaceutical studies.
